Project For Awesome 2023
It's the MOST wonderful time of the Nerdfighteria year again! Today marks the beginning of Project For Awesome, or P4A as it is affectionately abbreviated by the Nerdfighter Community. Central to the ideals of Nerdfighteria are the concepts of "Decreasing World Suck" and "Increasing the Awesome in the World". One of the most meaningful and effective ways we can do that as a community is by raising funds for other organizations that work to make the world better. P4A works to do exactly that! It is an annual 48 hour livestream on YouTube wherein Hank and John Green, along with other members of the community provide perks both solid and digital to reward donors for their donations. They then participate in massive amounts of shenanigans to provide entertainment and ridiculousness to entice the community to vote and donate! The donations are split into 24 hour increments, where Day One's donations are split between Partner's In Health to minimize maternal mortality in Sierra Leone and Save The Children. Day Two benefits charities that are selected by the community via voting on the YouTube videos created for the event. Last year the community gathered over $3 million to decrease world suck, and hopefully we will accumulate even more for worthy causes in 2023!! So let's all get together on YouTube, vote and donate, and participate in the silliness that we all enjoy so well. While we're at it, we get some amazing community engagement, and get to be a part of something that benefits so many amazing organizations! No wonder it's such a beloved Nerdfighter holiday!
